EAT & DRINK: Please Don't Tell and Crif Dogs

PDT is the kind of bar that makes you wish you could live during the prohibition days just so you could feel vivacious and dangerous. Hidden behind the door of a pretend telephone booth inside Crif Dogs on St. Marks Place, once inside (you need a reservation), you’ll understand why the place is called Please Don’t Tell. The bar has an underground-hipster-meets-country-club-chic. One of the many fabulous, but strange cocktails consists of a bacon-infused whisky made with maple syrup and bitters. The Black Flip is made of rum, stout beer, and egg. It’s delicious.

The bathroom, adorned with broken mirrors on the walls, warns its patrons not to sell cocaine inside the lavatory.

Also, you can order dogs and tater tots from next door to accompany your high profile cocktail. White trash at the country club never tasted so good. So drink some bacon under a stuffed deer. You’ll love it.
